Warning, the following facts may incite anger or confusion:
The gender pay gap still sits at 80.5 cents on the dollar for Caucasian Women. It’s even worse for Hispanic Women (62.2 cents) and for Black Women (67.75 cents).
All women teams raised just 2.2% of venture money during the first 10 months of 2018 (one of the best years on record). Less than 10% of decision makers at VC firms are women.
In 2018, only 25 of the of the Fortune 500 CEOs were women. There are the same number of Fortune 500 CEOs named James as there are women.
Women make up less than a quarter of the US Congress (23% to be exact). This marks the highest number of women in congress to date.
It’s not a level playing field out there, but EMpower Equity Partners was created to change the game.
